Today I will conclude my series on ‘A Useful Website for Australian Teachers’ (by the way, this also encompasses tutors, educators alike and parents who home school). Let me start off by stating that this website is a MUST-HAVE in your ‘bookmarks/favourites bar!’
Learning.21stCentury.Snapshot contains a plethora of resources in various categories and is a brilliant ‘go to’ website for the 21st century educator! When you enter the homepage on this website, you will notice the tabs and ‘Quick Links’ at the top of the page. Below the ‘Quick Links’ are units of work for specific learning areas e.g. Science, English. I was immediately drawn to this area as many teachers spend HOURS looking for relevant resources and activities to complement their teaching programmes. So, let's say I was looking for a unit on SOUND, then I would simply click on ‘Science Units of Work’ and scroll down to click on ‘Sound.’ This takes you to the ‘Snapshot Science’ page which contains an assortment of relevant activities, games, videos, links to experiments, a Science programme entitled ‘Sounds Sensational’ and much more! It was just so great to see all of this in one place and it was so EASY to access!
Learning.21stCentury.Snapshot is one of the best websites I’ve come across for current and appropriate content that befits the Australian Curriculum. I especially like the fact that this website is organised into categories and the homepage is not too overwhelming or crowded with links, ads, resources and information.
Finally, I would like to conclude this post by sending out a BIG thank you to the creator of Learning.21stCentury.Snapshot: Shellie Tancred!
