The second website that I would like to share with you all is called, ‘Topmarks.’ It’s a UK based website with references to ‘Key Stages (KS).’ These simply refer to the age of a child in the following order:
KS 0 – Ages 3-5
KS 1 – Ages 6-7
KS 2 – Ages 8-11
KS 3 – Ages 12-14
KS 4 – Ages 15-16
KS 5 – Ages 17-18
This particular website is such a great find for many reasons! The top two reasons being: 1) it includes a search engine, and 2) it links to some great educational websites, games and activities to consolidate concepts. For example, I typed the words ‘place value’ into the search engine (as this is often an area that I need to consolidate with students) and I clicked on the ‘Place Value Millionaire’ heading. I was redirected to another website and ended up playing a fabulous game with my students! You could play this one at home as a family or with the whole class! I then typed the word ‘commas’ into the search engine and clicked on ‘Punctuation Overview.’ I was redirected to another website that provided excellent explanations of when to use commas, which were supported with engaging examples and pictures.
This website has been such a useful tool for me and I hope it serves to assist you with your teaching, homeschooling or tutoring!
